    Two West German architects have been showing their designs for home interiors of the future at an exhibition in Ludwigshafen.

    In their world of the 1980's wood had disappeared from the furniture and accessories, and the kitchen has become the housewife's hobby-room. She is no longer expected to be doing much cooking there, but is till given plenty of shelf and working space.

    Space-saving features dominate these designs by Professors Hirche and Vettaler, but there is one concession to real future spulence - a king-sized double bath.

    SYNOPSIS: House Interiors for the 1980's went on show in Ludwigshafen, West Germany recently. Two prominent German architects were taking a look into the future, and one of their ideas is this linked lounge furniture.

    A feature of the scheme is a swivelling table.

    This is their dream-kitchen, compete with plenty of space and adjustable height working surfaces. The Designers claim that in the 80's housewives wont be doing much cooking. Warm-up meals will simply be re-heated, and the kitchen will be the house-wife's 'hobby-room'.

    In other rooms the accent is also on convenience, Easy stowing is provided for chairs and accessories.

    This writing desk, can be adjusted to whatever height suits.

    There is no thought at space-saving in the bathroom- this is a king-sized double bath of the future.

    And this, is a real space saver - a couch which converts to a hugs canopied bed.
