    ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 26TH, FOUR THOUSAND PEOPLE FROM ALL PARTS OF NEW JERSEY, TOOK PART IN A CIVIL RIGHTS DEMONSTRATION. THE MARCH STARTED AT THE CITY HALL, WENT TO THE STATE HOUSE, THEN TO THE STATE MEMORIAL BUILDING, WHERE THE MARCHERS HEARD SPEECHES CALLING FOR RACIAL EQUALITY.

    SPEAKERS INCLUDED JAMES FARMER, NATIONAL DIRECTOR OF THE CONGRESS FOR RACIAL EQUALITY, AND BISHOP STEPHEN BILL SPOTTSWOOD OF THE AFRICAN METHODIST EPISCOPAL CHURCH.

    PRECAUTION AGAINST DISORDERS INCLUDED 100 UNIFORMED STATE TROOPERS, IN ADDITION TO THE ENTIRE TRANTOM POLICE FORCE.
