Delhi's historic Juma Masjid, one the biggest mosques in the country built by Shah Hehan, the builder of taj Mahal is now getting long overdue redevelopment of the area around it. Over the last several years, all the roads around the historic mosque, a magnificent structure of Moghul architecture, has been encroached upon by illegal encroachments made by shopkeepers, petty stall hold. In some areas whole markets had sprung up, thereby spoiling the environment around the mosque and completely hiding it from long views of its majestic Delhi Development Authority had years ago prepared detailed for development of the area so that the devout would find it easy to go there for prayer and also the structure would once again emerge in the Red Fort Juma Masjid complex as its builder Shah Hehan had originally planned. But all work on this redevelopment came to a halt or progressed at snail's speed due to legal and other blockades. With internal emergency and a sense of new discipline work is now in progress at full speed to redevelop the area. Delhi Development authority's bulldozers are levelling nearby area to build shops at basement level for those who may be removed from around the mosque. Meanwhile shop keepers themselves have started clearing the area after necessary warning was issued to them to do so. Those who have already removed their ??? encroachments were being ??? given shots in other areas. Religious and devour ???.
