  • Description

The waters separating Taiwan from the People's Republic of China have led the Taiwan Government into using many methods of getting propaganda and food parcels across to the mainland.

This film, released by the Chinese Information Service in New York, shows the operations in Taiwan to send over balloons carrying messages and food. The hugs, helium-filled balloons can carry loads of up to 200 pounds. They are launched when the winds are blowing towards the mainland. They can be deflated by radio control and brought down inside the People's Republic with some accuracy.
