    A crowd of about three thousand Indonesians gathered in Bandung Square, Djakarta, to stage a protest demonstration over the death of former Congolese Premier Patrice Lumumba. Composed mainly of students and farmers they listened as speakers denounced "Imperialists" and "Colonialists" who were responsible for Lumumba's death.

    One of the speakers was the wife of the Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Subandrio. She recalled the Indonesian revolution against the Dutch and said their country also had collaborators with Imperialists as the Congo had now among its leaders.

    At the end of the speeches the crowd marched to the Belgian Embassy where armed soldiers stood on guard. From here they marched to the United States Embassy and shouted slogans and insults at anyone entering or leaving the building. There wee no incidents mainly due to efforts of the police.
