Background: A new perfume factory was officially opened in Bamako on Saturday (8 January). The ribbon was cut in a brief ceremony by the Minister of Development as a number of officials from the Government and SOMAPA (National Perfume Company) watched. The Director of SOMAPA has said that the new factory complex will result in improved working conditions, improved product quality, creation of new jobs and will allow market demands to be more effectively met.
