    Background: The Honduran government is continuing negotiations with left-wing guerrillas for the release of 83 hostages held in the northern city of Sand Pedro Sula. The guerrillas stormed the Chamber of Commerce building on September 17 and captured some 200 leading Honduran businessmen, two cabinet ministers and the central bank governor. Two men were wounded in the attack. The gunmen are believed to her members of the Cinchonero National Liberation Movement -- and are demanding the release of political prisoners. The guerrillas have allowed the Red Cross to take food and medical supplies into the building, and have released some of their prisoners after discussions with a priest who is acting as a mediator. Several of the shortages have escaped. A government spokesman has said the guerrillas will receive safe conduct out of the country, if al the hostages are freed.
