  • Description

During the second congress of the Congolese Labour Party, held last week in Brazzaville, Congolese President Ngouabi took the opportunity to welcome delegates from three friendly nations who were visiting the capital.

First, from Cambodia, came Mr. Chan Youran, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Khmer Rouge insurgent organisation headed by Prince Norodom Sihanouk. Mr. Chan brought a message of friendship from the Prince to President Ngouabi.

Later, President Ngouabi received a second delegation at the Presidential residence in Brazzaville, this time from Rumania. It was headed by Mr. Mircea Malita, a member of the Central Committee of the Rumanian Communist Party.

The third delegation to pay their respects to the President came from East Germany and consisted of a working party from the German Socialist Party, under the leadership of Mr. Konrad Neumann.

All three delegations spoke of their continuing friendship with Congo and its people and brought greetings from their own people to the Congolese Labour Party.
