Britains Brian Hewson finished fifth after leading for most of the race.

Mike Rawson Britain's European 800 metres champion finished third to America's Edward Collymore in the Hollis 600 yard run. Collymore's time was 1 minute 10.3 secs.

Irish 1,500 metres Olympic champion Delaney clocked his 27th consecutive indoor mile win with his Boston triumph.
