    Background: CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA

South Africa defeated a touring South American rugby team 22-13 on October 27, sweeping to victory in the two-test tour after trouncing their opponents 31-15 the previous week. The Springboks led 12-7 at the break, and finally scored four tries and two penalty goals. The Jaguars scored a try and three penalties from Argentine captain Hugo Porta. South African backs scored three of their four tries. Fullback Martin Sansot frequently joined the Jaguars line and scored the tourists' try. Most of the tourists were from Argentina, where the government urged the players to miss the tour to abide by an international boycott of South African sport because of the country's apartheid policies.
