    World Bank President Robert McNamera--on a two-day visit to the People's Republic of the Congo--left Brazzaville on friday (3 March) shortly after his arrival in the capital for a trip to the port of Points-Noire to visit World Bank projects. Later that evening, he attended a banquet in Brazzaville given by Congolese Vice-President Moudileno-Massengo.

    On Saturday (4 March), as Mr. McNamara was preparing to depart for the Central African Republic, he told reporters that "as far as the projects here are concerned, public works and transport are the first priority". Another World Bank project in the country is the credit of 7,500 million CFA Francs (11 million Pounds Sterling) for the development of a potash mining company which exported half a million tons last year.

    During his visit, Mr. McNamara had talks with Congolese President Marien Ngouabi in Brazzaville.
