    C/U of hand dialling 999 on telephone. Various shots of police telephone exchange, the information room at Scotland Yard. A policeman answers telephone and notes an address: "7 Creswick Road, Acton". The telephonists takes information over to large map of London. A radio operator passes on message to squad car in Acton.

    M/S of police car driving down suburban street. A detective in pain clothes gets out and rings doorbell. He chats with housewife who tells him she has just been visited by a bogus "electric supply official". POV shot from squad car driving down shopping street. The detective and policeman stop and search a man fitting the description given by housewife.
