Chris Lines says
Grand National clip (approx 1 minute in) - shows the private grandstand of the 7th Earl of Sefton, located near Canal Turn. The Earl is the taller man in a bowler hat at the right of the grandstand. He lived at Croxteth Hall, only a few miles from the racecourse and was a keen racehorse owner. His ancestors owned the racecourse. After the abdication the Earl and his American wife continued to to be friendly with Edward and Wallis Simpson. After the Earl's death in 1972 Croxteth Hall and its grounds were given to the people of Liverpool and became the largest park in the city.
