Tim Parker
Tim Parker has owned and chaired British Pathé since 2009, helping to preserve culturally significant documentaries and films for the enjoyment and education of future generations. His commitment to culture also manifests itself in the fact he is a trustee of the Royal Academy of Music and is also similarly involved in The Grange Festival.
Away from the arts, Tim Parker is a successful British executive of some standing and has held prominent positions at a number of household names including The AA, Kwik-Fit, shoe manufacturer Clarks and kitchen appliance retailer Kenwood.
His current role sees him take responsibility for the effective functioning of the board at Samsonite and, prior to assuming the title, he carried out a number of other positions with the luggage retailer including Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the consolidated group and non-executive chairman.
He was also an Advisor at CVC Capital Partners, an investment advisory and private equity business and recently served as the Chairman of the Post Office, the National Trust and Her Majesty’s Courts and Tribunal Service.
Tim Parker has also previously held a number of non-executive directorships with the likes of pharmaceutical giant Alliance Boots and multinational financial services and asset management company Legal & General.
At the beginning of his career, Tim advised Government ministers on nationalised industry policy in his capacity as an economist at the British Treasury.
He holds a MA in Philosophy, Politics & Economics from the University of Oxford and a Masters in Business Studies from London Business School.
