Happy Halloween!

For Halloween, we’re celebrating monsters, UFOs, unexplained events and all sorts of scary stuff.
G – G – Ghost!!!
These three terrific newsreels from the 1950s and 1960s take you on ghost hunts at various places around Britain – a house in Brighton, a pub in Amersham, and a cottage in Wilbarston, with a medium in attendance. Don’t watch just before bed!

Into the Depths
This week we head into some very spooky caves to look at the rock formations and the bats that live among them. We also explore an eerie underwater shipwreck and journey into the jungle to meet some “cannibals”.

Behind-the-Scenes at Hammer
The archive contains some interesting material on that famous horror movie studio, Hammer. In particular, there’s a look behind-the-scenes of “X the Unknown” and legendary star Peter Cushing on the set of “Frankenstein Created Woman”.
You can also see newsreel footage on Cushing during his time off, a model-maker who worked on “One Million Years B.C.” in his studio, some shots of the old Hammer building on Wardour Street, and a section from the TV show “Film Fanfare” discussing “Frankenstein and the Monster”, which must have become “The Curse of Frankenstein”.

8 Mysteries Never Explained
Watch as explorers search for the mythical Loch Ness monster. Hear about the curse of King Tut’s tomb. Follow the haunting kidnapping case of the Lindbergh baby. And more.

We join a Halloween party in 60s Paris filled with terrific costumes. Then we spend some time in the dark, after-hours at Madame Tussauds in London. Spooky.

Have a good Halloween everyone!
