The Beatles - Archive Newsreel Film Footage

Hey Beatles fans - have we got some film clips of the fab four for you! Our first film was made in 1963 and called The Beatles Come to Town, all about a gig in Manchester. In 1964 the archive films show the Beatles leaving for the USA, arriving in New York and Washington and the inevitable Beatlemania and their return to the UK. The Beatles are shown receiving Silver Heart Awards from the Variety Club of GB at the Dorchester. In the same year the Beatles went to Holland minus Ringo Starr who was having his tonsils out. Jimmie Nicol stood in for him and we have archive film clips of Ringo leaving hospital after the op. Australia and New Zealand also welcomed the Beatles in 1964 and this is all documented in the archive films of the Beatles history. That year John, Paul, George and Ringo were given an award by the Duke of Edinburgh, the footage is here. 1965 and The Beatles were given an MBE in the new year's honours list. There is also a documentary about Liverpool and the mersey arts scene. Simon Dee presented a Radio Caroline award to the Beatles and we have a film of the Beatles returning from their 1965 US Tour. The archive has a film of Ringo visiting newborn Zak Starkey in hospital and bringing him home. In 1966 the Beatles performed in Manila and had a pretty rough time of it, we have a newsreel film clip of them returning. George Harrison married Patti Boyd we have a German film of the Beatles in Germany in 1966. The Beatles Boutique opened in 1967 and we have a newsreel of the event and John Lennon bought a gypsy caravan for his son Julian Lennon as well as having his Rolls Royce psychedelically painted. A film of John and Yoko at a fashion show along with Rishikesh and the Maharishi covers 1968 and Paul McCartney's wedding with Linda Eastman is filmed. Finally a dutch film of the Bed-in at the Amsterdam Hilton completes a wonderful collection of Beatles memorabillia!
