Intertitle: "London". We see comedian George Robey with his wife looking at some of his birthday cards and telegrams. John Parsons interviews Robey and congratulates him on his 78th birthday. C/U of Robey dressed in his famous stage make up, complete with bushy eyebrows. Robey tells Parsons how he became titled "Prime Minister of Mirth". Robey does some of his characteristic stage mannerisms for the camera. Interview ends as Robey whispers dirty joke into Parson's ear.

He reads out his own letter of resignation and then signs it before the cameras. Wallace resigned having criticised Britain and suggested more peaceful relations with USSR.
