Unissued / unused material - dates and locations may be unclear / unknown.

    Woolwich, Greater London.

Footage of people walking through the Woolwich "foot tunnel". Presumably the tunnel has just been opened. We follow the people walking through and the cameraman also shows us the roof of the tunnel. Perhaps these are the first people to walk through the tunnel.

A lift arrives, a man with a cap opens the metal doors and pedestrians enter the lift. There seems to be an awful lot of people getting in to the lift.

There is a nice section where two middle aged people laugh. C/U of sign in lift which reads: "Smoking or Spitting in the Lift Strictly Prohibited." C/Us of some of the people in the lift. Probably people on their way to work. The lift ascends.

Exterior shot of commuters on their way to work. It seems to be a spring or summer day. Most of the men are in suits. The women are mostly wearing short sleeved dresses.

Demolition footage. A wrecking ball is seen smashing in to a wall. L/S of high building beside the Thames being demolished by a wrecking ball on top of a large crane. Various shots of the building being demolished. Camera pans from shots of the crane and wrecking ball in action to shots of the Thames.

It isn't about the opening because it opened in 1912 I think.
More poignantly it shows the crowds of people who used to walk back and forth to work in the docks and factories on either side of the river before all was swept away and everybody got to work in Subway.
The second part showing demolition is clearly not in Woolwich as there is a bridge beyond.
