Titles read: "CARNIVAL - 25,000 IN WINTER SPORTS PARADE".

    St Paul, Alberta (?), Canada.

Several shots of events at a winter carnival "in the great North-West". In front of an ice palace, a crowd watches a man representing Good King Borius (sp?) IV being crowned. Hundreds of people march along in the carnival parade; brief (and jumpy) shots of a 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' themed float; numerous women in dark boiler suits, white hats and white mittens walk along.

At an ice-rink we see 5-year-old figure skater Irene Davis skimming about and turning cartwheels on the ice. Crowds of people watch.

  1. Greg Cosimini says

This is a very nice film but I have a few corrections to make to the description.

    1. This Winter Carnival took place in St. Paul, Minnesota USA, NOT St. Paul, Alberta Canada
    2. The correct spelling of the king's name is Boreas, not Borius

    Other information:
The Ice Palace was built in the Dayton's Bluff neighborhood of St. Paul in the Bluff Playground near Indian Mounds Park. The larger semi-circle has a diameter of 60 feet. The large building shown in the parade segment is the Minnesota State Capitol. It is located just north of downtown St. Paul where the ice arena was located.

    Thank you,
    Greg Cosimini
