Welcome home - friends and relatives meet 2,000 returning troops on USS Louisiana.

Wonderful heart warming footage American troops return to USA on the U.S.S. Louisiana and are greeted in New York by friends; relatives; cheering crowds. Opens with shot panning along side of the large ship; with soldiers everywhere on deck. DS crowd going wild; mostly civilians; with a few uniforms among them; someone beating on a bass drum; people waving flags and also pennants with skull & crossbones and '59' on them.

People are underneath some framework held up by poles; harbour in BG. Shot of towers of the ship; pan down to smoke stacks; guns; etc. and decks teeming with troops. Cool shot panning rt. on welcome party; mostly women in FG; signs held up 'Oh You 59th Atta Boy!'; 'Hello Elie!'; 'Welcome Home.'; 'HARRY MURPHY'. Then DS crowd waving flags in a frenzy.

    Excitement; patriotism;celebration; joy
