Title reads: "Wartime Derby at Newmarket".

    Suffolk.

Pan over the crowds in public enclosure. M/S of a traffic jam at entrance to racecourse pan to crowded car park. High angled shot of the crowds beside the track. C/U of the horses being led out. L/S of the start of the race, pan with the horses as they race away. Various shots of the race in progress, interspersed shots of the dense crowds. M/S of the winning horse and jockey being led in. Winning horses is named "Owen Tudor", narrowly beating "Moro Goro".

Note: there is a disapproving tone to the commentary - narrator wonders if it is wise of so many war workers to take a day off to watch the Derby? Plus what about all that precious rationed petrol used to get there!?
