  • "Captain of sunken boat" - that's Joseph Schofield, and his boat was named Kensington Court.

    The Kensington Court was sunk by U-boat U-32 on 18 September 1939.

    The two RAF men seen here are the pilots of the two Sunderland flying-boat that flew to the crew's rescue, namely Flt Lt Thurston M.W. Smith and Flt Lt John Barrett.
