Start of the international football match between Austria and Wales. GV. Wales wearing white shorts kick off, and take possession of the ball. SV. Midfield play. The ball is passed back to John Charles, who right away kicks up field. SV. Len Allchurch on the outside right wing, kicks to centre. Austrian goalie Bruno Engelmeier runs out and leaps to save. He grabs ball and continues to run but he collides with Trevor Ford. They rebound and again Ford and Engelmeier charge each other. Engelmeier frees himself from the tussle, but Ford continues to chase after him. Engelmeier throws the ball to clear up field. SV. Welsh goalkeeper Jack Kelsey standing in his goal ready. SV. Austrian player passes ball down into the front of the Welsh goal mouth for Theodor Wagner to tap it into the net. This goal was scored five minutes after the kick off. SV. Crowds applauding. SCU. Pan, Wales attacking. Clifford Jones runs with ball, he is intercepted by an Austrian, but evades him and passes to Roy Paul who receives. Paul kicks up field. LV. Wales attacking in front of the Austrian goal. There is a general pileup of players colliding. SV. Crowd watching. SCU. Pan, both teams running for the ball in front of the Austrian goal mouth. Paul Halla gets possession of ball and kicks up field, but immediately at the same footage, Derek Tapscott goes to kick at the ball, misses and kicks Halla on the shins. Tapscott falls down and Halla jumps about on one leg and holding his other leg with his hands. SV. Crowds watching. LV. Austria attacking and play in front of the Welsh goal - leading up to Austria's second goal. Gerhard Hanappi with ball. He passes to his team mates then runs forward for preparation to receive the ball back. SCU. Hanappi receives ball and shoots. Ball in the net. This goal was scored nineteen minutes after kick off. LV. Massed crowds. SV. The other end, Allchurch kicks, goalkeeper Engelmeier dives to save. The ball slips out of his hands and goes over the line. At the same time, John Charles runs up to tackle the goalkeeper and he charges Charles with his head and knocks him over on his back.

SV. Austria's inside right Wagner being carried off the field by his countrymen after breaking a leg. SV. Crowd watching, some smiling. GV. Len Allchurch sweeps over a high cross kick from the outside wing and Tapscott leaps high to head the ball in the goal. STV. Crowds applauding. Half time score: Austria 2, Wales 1. GV. Wales taking corner kick. The ball is headed in front of the Austrian goal mouth by several players. It goes to goalkeeper Engelmeier. He collects it but in doing so he is charged by Tapscott. He frees himself and kicks up field. SV. Other end, Walter Schleger running with ball, he shoots. Goalkeeper Kelsey leaps to save but the ball goes straight over the crossbar. SV. Group of kids watching. SV. Tapscott and Karl Koller tussling for ball. Tapscott falls down with Koller. Halla rushes up to kick the ball which is underneath Tapscott. SV. Massed crowds. SV. SCU. St. John's stretcher party carrying off the Welsh right half Melvin Charles on a stretcher (2 shots). GV. Wales taking corner kick. Austrian goalkeeper dives to save. He falls and picks himself up again and a Welsh player starts to fight with him. Engelmeier clears himself and kicks up field. Final score: Austria 2, Wales 1.
