Good Greyhound racing sequence. Dogs are walked past. People arrive at the track. Men study form. Scoreboard. Dogs led up to the start by girls. Bookmakers. Dogs put in traps. Dogs let out to run around the track. Crowds cheer. Some elderly women get quite excited. Canadian servicemen play ice hockey. Street scenes. Piccadilly. Shaftesbury Avenue. Rainbow Corner; two Military Policemen ('snowdrops') stand outside. Boxing match. Servicemen watch. Billy Cobb (?) - boxer. Rainbow Club. Lots of American servicemen walking into the Rainbow Club. Wrestling match.

The Rhythmeers play "big band" style music whilst men in uniform dance with girls in the Rainbow Club ballroom. Hostess finds partners for girls who are dancing together. A man sings a song about Robin Hood then plays the trumpet. (Abrupt cut to black then start of reel 4.) Couples jive and jitterbug (lindy hop). War dance of Impshee (?) the Indian Princess by Andre Murnay (?) in gold body paint. Dance of the Four Winds. A man puts a bottle to his eye then there is some kaleidoscopic shots of the dancer - including one of just her legs. Radio: the British Broadcasting Corporation in Portland Place. Judy Allen (?) sings "Deep Sleep" in the studio. Then at her dressing table to a photograph of her man. She looks wistfully from a window as she sings. She wears an elaborate dressing gown and has a small dog. She takes off the dressing gown and gets into bed. She puts out the light.

Note: there is some sound damage to the start of reel 4 (halfway through this item) - it may be improved at a later stage - 26/4/2001 - SL. This film was possibly made to educate American and/or Canadian Servicemen on the ways of the British and to show them what fun they can have whilst they are here. Reels 1 & 2 are missing.
