Cuts (rushes, out takes) for unidentified Colour Pictorial - CP UN 2 - Female and Male Wrestlers.
Various shots of a female wrestling match; two women wrestle in a ring in a hall while the crowd looks on and shout encouragement. Crowd is mixed, but seems to be mostly male. Good C/Us of the wrestlers. Several shots of the crowd queuing to get into the hall; the two competitors getting into the ring - the more manly of the two women wears a red satin and gold lurex cloak and leather studded belt / knife carrier - gladiator style! We also see this woman getting into her cloak and belt backstage. This woman's feet are seen as she jumps from foot to foot in her warm-up - she is wearing lilac mules - like Scholls!
We also see several shots of men wrestling; on one man we can see his jock strap strings hanging out below the back of his 'briefs' - yuck!
Back to the female wrestlers; the butch one takes her knife from her studded belt and taunts the other woman with it. More wrestling and throwing shots. A man films the fight from the crowd. Good fight shots; blokes with greasy quiffs shout encouragement; the rest of the crowd looks fairly staid.
Pretty strong lesbian overtones in this footage!
I cannot find any trace of these shots in a released Colour Pic story; perhaps it was considered two risqué / violent for the day and never used. It looks like early 1960s.
