Parents look on as flying helmet is put on. Various shots of the 3 children who have won this prize being shown various planes. They go for a "taxi ride" around the base in a L.20 liaison plane piloted by Major Peebles. Three mothers wave off their children as the plane taxis around the base.
American children look on enviously as these prize winners get a special ringside seat at a firefighting display. An old aircraft is burnt for the occasion. Note: children who won the competition were Peter Champion, Elaine Robinson and Barrie Wilkinson. Competition was set by Mickey Mouse Weekly magazine. Other USAF personnel featured include Lt. George Ruark.
