    Travelogue featuring the sights of Egypt. Commentator gives us snippets of Ancient Egyptian history as we see various landmarks.

Shots of the walls and pillars of the tomb. Various wall paintings are seen. Valley of Nobles - interior of the tomb of Nakht. Various C/Us of tomb paintings - narrator explains the stories told in the paintings.

    Temple of Queen Hatshepsut - various shots of the temple. Chapel of the Goddess Hathor in Queen Hatshepsut's temple. C/U of Goddess Hathor. Reflection of the colossi of Memnon in small pond, children lead a herd of goats past the camera. They walk amongst the mortuary temple of Rameses. Various shots of the Valley of the Kings.

    Tomb of Tutankhamun - interior. M/S and C/U of the guard Abdul El Maboud Abdullah who was with Howard Carter when the tomb was discovered. Various shots of the golden coffin which contains the mummy of Tutankhamun. Various shots of the tomb paintings. C/U of the hands of a coffin figure, camera pans up. Various shots of the golden warrior and various other pieces from the tomb which are now held in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. C/Us of details of some of the finds. C/U of pieces of jewellery and of a golden mask of Tutankhamun.

    Ends with some shots of modern Cairo. Narrator's commentary really sounds like an advert for holidays in the city.

24 January 2015 marks 50 years since the death of British Prime Minister and international statesman, Sir Winston Churchill. British Pathé’s cameras followed Churchill throughout his career.
