    President Truman holds garden party for war veterans. The White House, Washington, America (USA).

    L/S people gathered on lawn in front of White House, various shots of the party. M/S line of war veterans, many disabled in wheelchairs, waiting to meet President. M/S President Harry Truman, his wife Elizabeth, and James Byrnes shaking hands with war veterans able bodied men push the disabled in wheelchairs. Various shots as the President meets servicemen including young sailors walking with crutches. M/S table full of food, C/U biscuits and cakes on plates. M/S soldier in wheelchair, he is given glass of punch. M/S Truman drinking from glass with plate in hand. Various shots as other servicemen drink and eat.
