  • The race took place on 17 September 1955.

    "Stirling Moss jumping into his Mercedes Benz No 10" - it's a Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR.

    "Car No 23" - it's a Triumph TR2.

    "followed by car No 9 and No 1" - these are another Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR, and a Jaguar D-Type.

    "Pan with car No 11." - this another Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR, driven by Wolfgang von Trips.

    "No 45 can be seen racing" - the car is an Elva Climax.

    "car No 38" - it's a Lotus Connaught Lea-Francis.

    "car No 38" - it's a Ferrari 750 Monza.

    "Stirling Moss having the traditional laurel wreath put round his neck." - pictured beside Moss, and also wearing a laurel wreath, is his co-driver, John Fitch.
