    M/S large crowd gathering in Trafalgar Square, some seated around fountains. Some sit at the foot of Nelson's Column surrounded by placards. C/U of statue of lion's head. Tom Mann, in a light coloured suit looking suntanned, delivers a passionate and animated speech from the foot of the column to the crowd below. Men in trilbys stand behind. Tom points .

    M/S demonstrators carrying communist banners, marching through the crowd. M/S crowd almost all wearing hats. Marchers carry anti-American placards and are escorted by police. C/U Tom Mann looking agitated - he rubs his chin. L/S crowd as cars and buses roll by. Tom delivers speech with an authoritative Lenin type stance. He and others sing a song, and the crowd wave hats, - hip, hip, hooray. C/U placards, "Save Sacco a Vanzetti". C/U man with head covered sitting in mock-up of electric chair surrounded by others. Placard says 'Down with American Torturers'.
