01:01:09 C/U soldier's foot in deep mud. C/U barbed wire. Corpse of dead soldiers lying in wet ground. Soldiers carrying injured man on stretcher. Medics treating injured men in trench. They appear to be bandaging minor wounds.

01:01:40 Troops marching (they are wearing tam'o'shanters and may be Scottish). The voice of says they are in Salonica / Salonika. Fleet of motorised field ambulances driving along track through camp. Mules dragging injured men on stretchers.

01:02:15 L/S tented camp in Greece. Man in foreground is being shaved with a cut throat razor. French troops marching. Serbian troops receiving food. L/S troops stand up and raise their hats. M/S Serbian troops sitting at tables eating. Serb troops play fighting with sticks. Greek men washing up.

01:03:02 Restaurant / Public house with Greek writing above the door. Mixture of troops sit at tables outside drinking and smoking.

01:03:15 Troops on horseback. They may be Australian or New Zealanders. Voice over suggests they are in Mesopotamia. Troops on the Eastern Front (they are wearing big furry hats). A artillery piece is being fired. Cattle or oxen pulling carts through snowy landscape. They are carrying injured men.

01:03:53 Western Front - British troops walking over duck boards across muddy ground. Horses pulling field guns along road. Large artillery piece firing shells, it rolls back with the recoil. Troops marching forward through trenches. Troops in trench put on gas masks.

01:04:43 Troops sitting down in trench. C/U soldier tilts head forward to show dents in his helmet. Injured soldiers lying down. Dead bodies laid out on ground. Medical post, lots of men carrying stretchers and treating the injured. Ambulances drive out of Charing Cross railway Station in London. Crowds are gathered by the gates.

01:05:26 Young girl dressed as nurse collects charitable donations from a soldier. She pins a flag onto his chest. Woman sitting on motorcycle decorated with Union Jack pins flags to other young women. Woman attaches flag to tunic of officer.

01:05:46 Troops sitting outside on deck chairs. Small musical group playing. An old soldier is holding the sheet music onto the stand for the violinist. Soldiers sitting at table at garden party. Lots of women in hats are milling around. Crowds of soldiers and civilians at garden party. Woman dressed in costume of milk maid (?) turning handle of barrel organ. Soldiers and civilians on fairground merry-go-round. Chelsea pensioner walks towards to women selling flowers.

01:06:25 Blind men (probably ex soldiers) walking in line through park. Blind man gets into rowing boat. He has a row of medals on his chest. A sighted young man (possibly a boy scout) climbs in to assist him. Injured men sitting around table outside doing basket weaving. Blind men doing macramé. Injured men hold hens.

01:06:56 Men in workshop carving artificial legs. Some of the limbs come ready fitted with boots. (Nice sequence, part of ON1J).

01:07:22 Crowds in London watch the progress of the Lord Mayor's Show. Horse drawn carriage travels down street. Naval troops marching with guns. Captured German plane (with wings removed) towed along as part of the parade.

01:07:44 Young army cadets and Boy Scouts in parade. Mayor of Hackney reading speech. In front of him is a ceremonial mace. Next to him is seated a soldier (according to the paperwork this is a ceremony for a Victoria Cross winner). Cut away to large crowd waving and cheering. VC winner stands up and removes his hat. He is about to make a speech.

01:08:08 Labour Party and trades union procession. Lots of elaborate banners are being carried. Man speaking to crowd at large rally. The banners wave in the wind.
