The singers are John Mott (real surname Mottershead) and Elsie French who were married in real life. The pianist is Cornelius Fisher.
They formed this act in the early 1930s and were one of the very first acts to appear at the Players' Theatre in King Street, Covent Garden when they started their 'Late Joys' Music Hall. The Aspidistras were still performing this act at The Players' in the late 70s/early 80s.
