No title. Actors rehearse for the show "Belle of New York" at the Daly's Theatre in London. C/U of a passionate embrace. Woman leans back whilst a man plants a smacker on her lips. They look lovingly at each other then kiss again. Dissolve into a M/S of the scene, it is a theatre set and the director sits in the foreground. A woman rushes over to the embracing couple and the first woman runs behind her man. The second woman could be the affronted wife. The kissing girl wears very short shorts exposing a lot of leg. Various other actors stand around, a rehearsal presumably. The two women tug at the mans arms. C/U of the director tearing his hair out and shouting - throwing a tantrum. One of the actors puts his fingers in his ears. The director rants and raves. M/S of two actresses powdering their noses. C/U of actor with fingers in his ears and C/U of director having a tantrum.

"Every dance has to be explained in detail and practised until those shapely limbs have just the right amount of pep and snappiness." The director (or perhaps the choreographer) jumps up and down showing a group of chorus girls the steps he wants them to do. Various high angle shots of the girls rehearsing a number. It is quite a comical routine, they wag their fingers and walk around crouched down. Low angle shot of their legs as they dance. We then see them do a high kick routine. High angle shot of another dance routine. Scenery is moved around the stage as they dance. Shot from down in the orchestra pit. A rather large man is giving an interview - he is possibly the show's producer. "With a little light relief from Molly Fisher and Johnny Schofield." Molly and Johnny do a comedy dance routine. He swings her around and then drops her on the floor, she continues spinning on her bottom, showing off her knickers. She attempts to run and jump onto his back, she knocks him over, they both sprawl on the ground.
