Sleeper coach - another Liverpool idea which didn't catch on. L/S of an "Albatross Sleeping Car" approaching then passing the camera. Stationary coach with passengers standing in front. Passengers leave the coach. Building behind has "Imperial Motorways" and "Macshane's Motors" painted on the windows.

Dr Bell and Mr Lenny (sp?) - two cyclists about to embark on a round the world trip shake hands with some of the crowd that surrounds them. Unveiling of a replica of the Peter Pan statue which stands in Kensington Gardens. Various actors dressed as characters from the Peter Pan book reveal the statue and prance around. The late George Audley (sp?) donated the statue. Some children dressed as bunny rabbits do a cute dance. Someone in a crocodile outfit shuffles around the base of the statue.

Dignitaries arrive as Lord Derby opens the new docks. Various shots of ship breaking a ribbon and entering the docks. The Mayor on crutches opens a section of a new arterial road. L/S of the new road.

1933 - Various shots of the foundation stone of the new Roman Catholic Cathedral being laid by the Archbishop of Liverpool. His Eminence Cardinal McCraury (sp?) gave the address.

Prince Edward, Prince of Wales (later King Edward VIII, Duke of Windsor) visits the training ship Conway. Naval cadets on board give three cheers. Shot of the boat moving away.

1931 - the Lord Mayor of Liverpool goes on a goodwill visit to New York and is entertained by the Mayor of New York - James 'Gentleman Jimmy' Walker. They pose together for the cameras.

Duke and Duchess of York (later King George VI and Queen Elizabeth later Queen Mother) visit Liverpool in 1932 to open a new hospital for women. We also see them open the York House Boys Club - part of the University.

Speke Airport opened by Lord Londonderry. Aircraft lined up, opening ceremony, parade of pilots, crowds gathered to watch air display. Midland & Scottish Air Ferries route was opened by J. Ramsay MacDonald - he breaks a bottle over the nose of a plane. The plane taxis and takes off ("Miss Liverpool?")

1933 - various shots of Everton playing football against Manchester City in the Cup final at Wembley. Dixie Dean mentioned. Everton returning to ecstatic crowds. Various shots of the team being driven through Liverpool. Dixie Dean pretends to drink from FA Cup.

Gordon Richards breaks Fred Archer's record at Aintree. Various shots of horse racing and of the jockey riding into the paddock. Continued.
