    Queen Elizabeth II unveils foundation stone of new Exeter University, Devon.

    M/S of the female Chancellor of Exeter University giving Loyal Address (whole item is mute) in which she thanks the Queen for so graciously attending to open the New University. She then rolls up the address and hands it to the Queen. Prince Philip (Duke of Edinburgh) sits beside the Queen on the platform with others.

    The Queen stands and makes a speech in reply. The Queen is handed a framed Charter which she proceeds to hand to the Chancellor. The Queen, Chancellor and others walk to back of stage where Queen unveils the foundation stone. The Queen places coin in foundation stone. Everyone stands for National Anthem. Queen walks off the dais.

    Several shots, panning along group of children waving flags at the camera. Various shots, Queen and Duke walking along Broad walk, get into Land Rover and drive through lane of children all waving and cheering, followed by policemen on foot. Various shots, schoolchildren, some in school uniform, waving and cheering.

    C/Us The foundation stone being unveiled with inscription written in Latin. Shots of a model of the Faculty of Arts Building. Several exterior shots of students and audience at unveiling ceremony. M/S as the Chancellor arrives with a small, bespectacled pageboy holding up her train. The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh arrive and are greeted.
