Full titles read: '"The men who died in captivity" - Thousands of ex-prisoners of war attend poignant ceremony in memory of their 16,000 comrades who died whilst captives in a foreign land.'

    London.

M/S of World War I veterans marching along Whitehall in the pouring rain. High angle L/S shows a military marching band leading the parade along the road; traffic and double-decker trams pass either side. Various shots of the open-air ceremony being conducted by a priest - it seems to be taking place in the street at Whitehall, perhaps beside the Cenotaph. The veterans singing from pamphlets and hold wreaths and shields in memory of their comrades; several also hold umbrellas in the driving rain. L/S of the band leading the procession down towards the Cenotaph.

Note: a very poignant piece of footage. For search purposes: First World War, The Great War.
