    France and Flanders in Belgium.

    Various shots of a procession of war veterans marching through a town; numerous flags are carried; several women are also seen in the group. Crowds of people watch the parade.

    Intertitle reads: "From every part of Britain they came on this great Pilgrimage of love and remembrance."

    M/S of numerous men and women walking along and carrying suitcases. They seem to be walking over a station concourse. Various shots of war veterans walking about the battlefields, climbing over the rubble and grassy banks and walking through the trenches. Lots of women of varying ages are seen, some wear the medals of their husbands, sons, or boyfriends. A sign beside one of the fences reads 'German Line / April 9'. The trenches seem to have been reinforced with new sandbags and decking.

    This story is taken from nitrate neg. and is followed by a duplicate story taken from a safety print which is very dark - use the first version.
