    The first day of the final Cricket Test England v South Africa batting. The Oval.

    The first day of the final test Bob Wyatt wins the toss and puts South Africa in to bat. The South African openers Jack Siedle and Bruce Mitchell put on 103 before lunch. Mitchell goes on to make his century in three and a half hours. People seem to be enjoying the heat.

    N.B. Item found in Unidentified Gazettes reel. May be item from 35/66.

    The match seen here is England v South Africa.

    The location is The Oval.

    It was a 3-day match, played on 17, 19 and 20 August 1935.

    "Wyatt" is England captain Bob Wyatt.

    "Siedie" is jack Siedie.

    "Mitchell" is Bruce Mitchell.

    "he finishes the day on 128" - actually, 128 was the score he was out for.
