Full title reads: "Kent. 'The Buffs' Canterbury Cathedral filled with past & present members of the famous Regiment at 'laying up' of the old colours."

    Canterbury, Kent.

Intertitle reads: "(The whole service was specially broadcast & heard by the 1st Battalion on parade in Burma!)"

Soldiers of the East Kent Regiment (The Buffs) formed up in ranks outside Canterbury Cathedral. Crowds of people are watching as they slow march, with rifles and bayonets fixed into the Cathedral. Two of their number are carrying the regimental colours (flags).

    Exterior shot of Canterbury Cathedral.

    Troops march in to Cathedral.

The Buffs - led by their band - march away after the service. Amongst those marching are fairly young boys - presumably cadets - and men in civvies - presumably veterans of the regiment.

C/U of two military officer and several members of the clergy. They are receiving the salute. They are heavily decorated with medals.

More shots of the regiment marching past the Cathedral.
