    Good educational film about the making of tyres for the wheels of steam locomotives, Doncaster, South Yorkshire.

    Full titles read: "THE ART OF GETTING TYRED ! by a Loco"

    L/S's of numerous train wheels stacked on top of each other outside factory. L/S and M/S of workman working on a large wheel as it is rotated by machine the narrator says that "very minute measurements are essential to ensure accuracy in the fit.'

    L/S of wheels being lifted through the air by a device inside the factory. M/S of workman measuring the diameter of a wheel. L/S of the tyre being placed in a "unique gas furnace, which heats it equally all round and expands it." M/S of one of the gas furnace burners being attached to the wheel.

    L/S of the wheel being lowered down into the tyre "which begins to shrink as soon as the gas burners are extinguished and grips the wheel in a relentless vice like clutch. L/S of the completed wheel being lifted away. Good C/U of the wheels and pistons starting to gather speed as a steam locomotive moves away from a station.
