    Cape Kennedy, United States of America

    Var. MS & CU of the three Apollo XI astronauts in their final fitting and dressing room prior to their flight. We see them being fitted with their gloves and space helmets before they make their way down the corridor to the transfer van carrying their oxygen kits. Slow GV Pan over part of Cape Kennedy firing area dissolve into aerial shot over the many campers and sightseers in the area to watch the blast off. Var. shots of the campers, sightseers and press starting to take their places in the special stands, etc., as blast off time nears. MS Pan with the three astronauts as they leave the block house and enter the transfer van. MS Lyndon Johnson in his seat to watch blast off. LS Pan up in MS as the Apollo XI blasts off. We hold pan with cutaways to watchers looking up. Montage of signposts around the Cape advertising motels, apartments, cafes, etc., all have space- associated names, i.e. Polaris Motel, Saturn Apartments, etc. Var. shots as the tourists swarm over the cape on tours of the exhibits, they see mock space capsules, moonbugs, etc. LS Zoom into MS at night of the primed Apollo XI standing floodlit on the pad. Var. shots around the camera and press area as blast off nears. MS Pan up with Apollo XI as it takes off. Var. shots as the huge gantry surrounding the rocket is slowly moved away on it's giant tracks. Very LS of the Apollo blasting off with cameramen and watchers in F.G. Telephoto MS as Apollo XI blasts off. Pan up shows good shots of the rocket in flight. Various shots of cars dispersing from the area. (Dupe. Neg. F/G)
