Germany. CU hand tears of date on desk calendar to show April 9th. Quick shot of trees in blossom. Lots of shots of posters, stickers, logos etc calling for a vote to give increased powers to the Fuhrer. Shots of various shots of buildings, many covered with swastika flags. Shots of Hitler in open car in parade along crowd lined streets. Various CUs of people cheering. More shots of the parade. Thousands of pigeons / doves are released. CU hands of clock reaching 12 o'clock - midday. Various shots of people raising swastika flags. A factory hooter sounds. Flypast of planes. More shots of flags. People stop working. - Spacing - More shots of planes overhead. Traffic stops. People stand in the streets giving Nazi salute. Shots of Churches around Germany and Austria as their bells ring out to signal the end of the two minute stand still. Traffic starts to move. A boat travels down a river. CU hand tears off calender date to reveal 10th April. People going to vote in referendum (possibly in Austria). CU voting paper as someone votes 'Ja'. Hermann Goering and his wife go to vote. Shots of other people voting. The Fuhrer Adolf Hitler arrives to vote. Shots of Hitler and Dr Joseph Goebbels on balcony above cheering crowds. Rudolf Hess comes out to join them.
N.B. On April 10th 1938 99 percent of voters in Germany and Austria voted for the Anschluss and powers for Hitler.
