    Filmed at Simonstown in South Africa.

    Practice torpedo shoot on HMS Calcutta. C/U of navy personnel wearing some kind of gas masks preparing to launch a torpedo. Shot of the torpedo being launched and travelling towards another ship.

    "Torpedoes are too expensive to be left floating around, so the next move is to recover the steel fish - " High angle shot of men in dinghy rowing away from the ship. High angle shot of the large boat being rowed by about a dozen sailors away from the ship to collect the torpedo. M/S of the front of the boat with collected torpedo attached. Short item - probably incomplete.

    Was an item in Pathe Pictorial issue number 683.
