CU man lifting binoculars. SV pan, horses starting race. No 7 "Never Say Die" is last near the rails but he quickly moves up and joins the field. Pan as horses race, back to back view. SCU people looking through binoculars. GV as field races across country, "Double Bore" in the lead, closely followed by "By Thunder" & SV. Pan, rest of field well up with the leaders. SV crowd. LV towards and pan, horses rounding bend. "By Thunder" takes over the lead from "Double Bore". "By Thunder" followed by "Blue Prince II" and on the rails in third place is "Double Bore". Charlie Smirke begins his run and easily overhauls the leaders. W. Snaith gives "By Thunder" everything he has got but "Never Say Die" flashes past him to take the lead. GV "Never Say Die" well in the lead and racing towards finish. Rae Johnstone on "Elopement" and Manny Mercer on "Estremadur" lead the field and chase after Smirke but have no chance as "Never Say Die" streaks away. Smirke eases his mount and they pass the post 12 lengths ahead of Elopement and Estremadur, he looks back to watch rivals finishing. STV crowd. STV Mr Robert S. Clarke leading in the winner.
