St. Andrew's Day at Eton at the Eton Wall Game. Windsor, Berkshire.
Public school boys from Eton College engage in bizarre form of sport; in the traditional St. Andrew's Day Wall Game. Pan across group of young teenage boys with striped caps (some with silly looking straps left unfastened) and striped scarves. They stand in a park; with large bare trees in BG; they talk and laugh and look cocky. Suddenly; a shot of the boys all pushing at each other in a pile; up against an old brick wall; some of them covered with mud. The weird thing is; it's a mystery what they're up to; they can't be trying to climb the wall; they'd do better than that! They look more as if they're trying to push it over;but no; they're really pushing on one another.
Now this is just as surreal and even slightly sinister: CU pan right on 2 boys dressed in black suits and top hats crawling along the top of the wall; with twisted bare tree branches in BG. Back to the struggle at the wall (and sometimes a glimpse of a whole flock of the black-clad top-hatted boys now sitting on top). Boys regrouping; tired; but some still gathered at the wall in the same spot. A schoolmaster arrives; but quick cut; then shot as man puts on his hat and walks off; as the boys continue to push. It seems like they're trying to lift something. They fail again; stand about.; CU one boy in striped hat talking to a friend.
