C/U of unidentified man smiling at the camera. L/S of army manoeuvres. Men firing small artillery in wooded area - may be foreign army as seem to be wearing woolly hats. L/S men moving skiing down a hillside. L/S of men skiing over hills towards the camera. Some of the men seem to be carrying flares. L/S of skiers at a ski resort. Various shots of skiers passing the camera, skidding. Boy races down on chair on skis. "Racing speed and reckless turns give ski-joring unfailing thrills." Horse racing with a difference - skiers are pulled behind the horses. Various shots of the race - looks dangerous!

01:32:51 - C/U of man working on a piece of machinery. Two men push an unusual boat out into the water. Intertitle reads: "Grantland Rice Sportlight - where beauty matches speed. Pathepicture." (This is presumably from an American Pathe newsreel.) L/S of the small yacht on large skates speeding around a frozen lake. Various shots of the boat. High angle shot of a ski slope. Shot of a man performing a ski jump and crashing at the bottom. Speed skating around a rink. Various shots of men skiing, jumping and crashing. Cresta Run - bob sleigh riders speed towards the camera.

01:34:43 - Motor car racing. Various shots of racing cars on track and possibly on a beach. Major H.O.D. Segrave carries off the Grand Prix - C/U of Major Segrave and colleagues standing at a race track. L/S of stands at racetrack. Crowds. C/U of Major Segrave filling the petrol tank whilst his mechanic changes a wheel. Petrol tank overflows. Major Segrave fills radiator with water. He gets into the driver's seat and his mechanic pushes the car off. Various shots of the car in action. C/U of the driver. Car speeding along beach. Pendine - another sports car races along the beach.

01:38:04 - Man rides a Penny Farthing dressed in Edwardian clothes. Cycling race - various shots of cyclists speeding around a track. A tandem - which looks to be made up of a motorcycle and a bicycle joined. Dog racing. Dogs are let out of the traps. Men catch their dogs at the end of the race. Very high angle shot of a motorcycle race. Seaplane landing on a lake - lots of spectators. Various shots of seaplane taking off, landing etc. Two boats race each other under a large bridge. They are "Baby Gar" boats seen in another of the Speed Film reels. Speedboat approaches the camera. Various shots of speeding boats. Trotting races. Camera follows horse and chariot racers. Race horse seen through an elaborate framing device with horses inside a circular frame with crowds in stands seen around it.

01:42:06 - Two men ride horses very fast using poles to pick up flags in a sort of jousting match. Woman stunt rider on horseback stands in the saddle with her arms outstretched and the horse runs full pelt. She does various stunts including a kind of headstand in the saddle. She wears a cowboy hat. L/S of something moving along the top of a hillside - hard to see. Athletics race - men "on their marks" then get set, go. Camera follows the men as they run. "Eve, who started late, is not far behind -" Women's running race. Most wear shorts, one wears a dress - possibly a man in drag. Two toddlers - one in a sailor suit, the other in a long bathing costume - walk along a beach. Woman comes and takes their hands and leads the little one away from the water. Tortoise in C/U walks past the camera.

01:43:40 - C/U of wild looking man looking through some tree branches. M/S of crouched man moving towards the camera with a big club in his hand - he is a caveman. M/S of man with club chasing the other man - he swings the club maniacally. C/U of him scowling - very fierce. L/S of people crossing the road on a windy day. M/S of people being buffeted by the wind as they try and cross the road. Cars are blown into one another. M/S of large gaggle of ostriches running past the camera. C/U of their legs. It is the annual Ostrich Derby. Three men stand thigh deep in a river and watch a strange boat go by. It is a kind of water-skimmer. It seems to have a propeller attached.
