Titles read: "ROME - SORAYA ROMANCE RUMOUR GROWS".

    Rome, Italy.

Various shots at Rome airport show Princess Soraya of Iran / Persia (former Empress) and her mother arriving from Frankfurt. They come down the steps of the plane and walk across the tarmac, accompanied by Iranian officials. Princess Soraya waves to the cameras. Photographers stand on a balcony to get pictures.

Commentator talks of the Princess coming to Rome to meet Prince Raimondo Orsini, one of the foremost Italian noblemen. As Soraya is a Moslem / Muslim, the Catholic Church is opposed to the idea of their marrying.

Note: Whitaker's Gazetteer of 1960 lists the correct spelling of the Princess' name as Suraya Esfandiari Bakhtiari. Notes on file.
