    Canadian soldier holding a wire in his hand talking into camera (natural sound) - he sends his love to London, Ontario and to Linda. He seems slightly confused but continues later on.

    Two Canadian airmen standing in front of camera. One is introducing the other. His name is Sigmund (sp?) Smith, he is from Montreal and he was awarded with medal after he saved a pilot from burning aircraft. As Sigmund Smith starts talking the item abruptly ends.

    "Canadian soldier holding a wire in his hand" - he's a member of the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals, (RCCS).

    "His name is Sigmund (sp?) Smith" - no, that should read Signalman Smith, (needs changing twice in text and once in tags).

    "he was awarded with medal" - he was awarded the British Empire Medal.

    Incidentally there's more footage of the Smith interview in clip 1957.08. That clip is dated 1945, so I'm not sure which date is correct.
