  • Matthews' honour here came shortly after his last ever league game, which he played at the age of 50!

    "Matthews walking into Stoke City's football ground" - it's the Victoria Ground.

    The all-star football match that we see preparations for was played on 28 April 1965.

    "Di Stefano" is Alfredo di Stefano.

    "Kubala" is Laszlo Kubala.

    "Mazopust" should read Josef Masopust.

    "Peter Thompson (?)" - no, it's Bobby Thomson.

    "Johnny Douglas (?)" - no, it's Bryan Douglas.
