    Shelsley Walsh is in the Teme Valley in Worcestershire (not Gloucestershire).
    This is the first post war meeting in June 1946.

    00:12 - Alec Issigonis in the Lightweight Special drives up through the "Esses."
    00:28 – Bob Gerard in ERA R14B.
    00:46 – Raymond Mays in ERA R4D wins with a time of 39.57 seconds.
    00:57 - Basil Davenport in his homemade special, "Spider."
    02:08 – a Maserati 4CL (and what looks like Reg Parnell) comes around the top “S” and into the finishing straight.
    02:37 – George Abecassis in his Alta crosses the finish line, then sets off back down the hill, closely followed by an HRG.

    Date of this meeting was 1st June 1946. Sadly for the many motor-racing starved enthusiasts who turned up in droves for this first post-war meeting, the weather was truly appalling but did not seem to ruin spectator's enthusiasm. Car and drivers in order seen:- No. 1, Clive Lones' 500 cc "Tiger Kitten" special, time 53.78 seconds. No. 5, J.M.P. Dowson driving the 'Lightweight Special' designed by Alex Issigonis: 46.76 secs to be 1st in the 500-750cc Class. No. 27, Bob Gerard's 1½ litre ERA (R4A), 45.47 secs. No. 25, Bob Ansell's 1½ litre ERA (R9B), 45.00 secs. No. 65, Raymond Mays, 2 litre ERA (R4D), 42.79 secs - fastest time of the day. No. 47, Basil Davenport's 1½ litre "Spider" special, 47.65 secs. No. 64, Robert Cowell, 2 litre Alta, 44.89 secs - 1st in 1500-2000 cc Class. No. 77, Kenneth Evans, Alfa Romeo P3 single-seater, 46.11 secs. No. 83, Peter Monkhouse, Bugatti, 45.26 secs.
